Introduction to Lift 109 and Battersea Power Station
Battersea Power Station has been respectfully restored to its former glory. Your Lift 109 journey begins in the Power Station’s magnificent Art Deco Turbine Hall A, where through a carefully curated exhibition of original records and multimedia displays, you’ll discover more about the building’s rich heritage, its architectural significance, and enduring presence in popular culture. Continuing onwards and upwards, constellations of light guide your way as the elevator makes its ascent up one of the iconic chimneys. From 109 metres at the top, you will take in a panoramic view like no other.
Accessibility at Lift 109
At Lift 109, we strive to ensure that our experience is accessible to all our guests. This guide covers access, ticketing, and arrival information to help you have the best possible experience.
General Accessibility
Wheelchair and Mobility Scooter Access: Battersea Power Station and its surrounding area are fully accessible, with paths, ramps, and nearby accessible underground stations.
Accessible Lifts and Escalators: Wherever there are stairs in Battersea Power Station, accessible lifts or escalators are available.
Seating: Available in the gallery, infinity room, transfer lobby, and within Lift 109 itself.
Mobility Scooters
Due to operational requirements at Lift 109 and the strict evacuation procedure we have in place, mobility scooters cannot be brought into the Lift 109. Guests who use a mobility scooter will be required to transfer to a standard wheelchair, and the mobility scooter will be safely stored in our buggy park during the ascent.
Wheelchair Size
Due to the restricted space within the chimney, The maximum wheelchair size we can accommodate is 115cm by 65cm. Please note mobility scooters are not permitted due to the strict evacuation procedures at Lift 109.
Stairs at Lift 109
There are 39 spiral stairs with bannisters on either side and floor lights for increased grip. If you require step-free access, you must reserve a space in the accessible lift when booking your tickets.
The size of the accessibility Lift is 147cm in length, by 100cm wide.
Due to the configuration of the doors, the maximum wheelchair size suitable for the lift is 115cm by 65cm. Please see the below image for reference.
If you need to add the accessible lift to an existing booking, this can be done by clicking HERE. If you have not purchased tickets yet, the accessibility lift can be added to you booking during the booking process.
Maximum capacity of 1 person per reservation. You may bring one carer into the accessibility lift with you.
Lighting and Sound
Lighting: No strobe lighting, but there are pulsing and flickering lights which may affect those with photosensitive epilepsy.
Sound: In the Infinity Room, there are music, video projections, and loud sounds including a booming effect.
The Infinity Room is equipped with a voiceover. For guests who require subtitles, please inform a team member at the entrance. We will provide you with an iPad that displays subtitles in sync with the show.
Chimney and Lift 109: Sound effects and pulsing lights are used during the ascent and descent.
Narrow and Enclosed Spaces
Infinity Room: An enclosed room that can be dark during the show. A team member will be present at all times. To bypass this area, speak with a host upon arrival.
Standard Elevators: After the Infinity Room show, guests must use standard-sized elevators (30-40 seconds). This part of the attraction cannot be skipped.
Onboarding Platform: This area is narrow. If unsuitable, speak to a team member for an alternative waiting area.
Complimentary Carer Ticket
Eligibility: Complimentary tickets are provided for PA/Companion/Carers for guests requiring assistance. Documentation such as DLA, PIP, Blue Badge, etc., must be presented on arrival (no need to submit during booking).
Requirements: Carers must be 18 years old. For child tickets, a paying adult must accompany the child.

Assistance Dogs
Policy: Lift 109 is committed to making sure the attraction is inclusive and accessible to all and we understand that some customers will rely on an assistance dogs to attend our events.
Lift 109 can be busy and at times loud, creating an unfavourable environment for animals. For these reasons, we do not permit our customers to bring non assistance animals with them. Lift 109 reserves the right to turn away dogs at the gate who do not comply with Assistance Dogs UK guidelines surrounding assistance dogs.
To ensure the smoothest entry possible, we would advise contacting our customer service team so that they can help facilitate your entry to the attraction and provided necessary information regarding the venue.
Please note, therapy dogs or animals are not permitted at the event, in line with guidance from leading animal welfare charities Pets as Therapy and the RSPCA
Food and Drink / Medical Equipment
Food or hot drinks are prohibited items as standard. If you have a medical condition where you must bring food and drink / medical equipment with you, please inform us in advance via our request form HERE.

Accessible Parking
Parking is limited. Fully accessible public transport from Battersea Power Station tube station is recommended. For parking information, contact Guest Services (guestservices@bpsms.co.uk | 0208 176 6500).

Taxis
Access via Battersea Park Road. Site security will guide you to drop-off and pick-up points.
Tube/Train Stations
Battersea Power Station has a Zone 1 Underground station on the Northern Line, which is step-free. Use TfL’s journey planner for detailed travel routes.
When You Arrive
Entrance Location: First floor, north end of Turbine Hall A. Look for the large chandelier above the Gallery.
Ticket Presentation: Present your ticket to the host (printed or digital). Tickets can also be purchased on the day, subject to availability. For reserved accessible lift tickets, present them to the host.
Accessible Toilet Facilities
Toilets, including accessible ones, are located outside our attraction near the food hall.
Medical and Welfare Services
First Aid: A first aider is always on site.
